
Well equipped and nicely furnished self catering accommodation with views over the River Tay.
Located in the heart of Scotland amidst some of Perthshire's most beautiful scenery the bothy
is ideally situated just 6 miles east of Perth and 2 miles from the main Perth to Dundee
road (A90).
The area offers many opportunities for leisure pursuits including golf, walking,
cycling, boating, swimming and mountaineering. Scone Palace, Blair Castle, Edinburgh,
Stirling and many other tourist attractions are all within easy driving distance.
There are many golf courses less than an hour away, including St Andrews and Gleneagles.
The tranquil hamlet of Inchyra enjoys a wonderful location on the banks of the River
Tay. The village of Glencarse is about 1 mile away. It has one hotel and a shop.
Post Office facilities can be found in the neighbouring village of St Madoes. There are a number of other good hotels / pubs within
a few miles which serve excellent bar food. Inchyra is an ideal location to escape
the hurly burly of city life. However a car is essential to make the most of the
area.
Our cottage, which has been awarded 4 Star status by VisitScotland, is situated within the extensive
grounds of the proprietor's house and
is surrounded by nice gardens. Guests have their own garden area with garden furniture
and BBQ. There is also a raised walkway to the river's edge. Exclusive parking for
the bothy is adjacent to the cottage.
Well constructed using the original stone of the salmon bothy (which it replaced),
the finish is to a very high standard with extensive use made of natural wood finishings.
The accommodation is generous, sleeping a maximum of 4 adults. The ground floor has two large bedrooms each with
twin beds, electric blankets, pine furniture and hair dryer. There is a fully tiled
shower room with WC and WHB. Bed linen and towels will be supplied. The upper floor
has a large living room which stretches the entire length of the building, with
comfortable seating area, TV, DVD, HI-FI and open plan kitchen and dining areas.
All windows enjoy fine views towards the river. A wood-burning stove supplies most
of the heating and the energetic can assist by gathering driftwood from the river
bank at low tide.
The kitchen area is attractively fitted with floor and wall mounted units in natural
pine. Integral electric hob and built in electric oven. There is an automatic washer/dryer,
dishwasher, fridge, microwave oven, coffee maker and food processor. It is well
equipped and an ample supply of all kitchen utensils is provided.
Well behaved pets are welcome but please let us know prior to arrival.
